Who Is Responsible for Your Information?
Purring Place is the data controller for the personal information described in this notice. This means Purring Place decides why and how that information is used.

What Information Is Collected?
The booking enquiry form collects:
- Your full name
- Your email address
- Your telephone number, if you choose to provide it
- Your postcode
- The first and final dates for which care is requested
- The number of cats requiring care
Web3Forms may also process technical information required to receive, secure and deliver the submission. This may include an IP address, submission time, browser information and referring-page information.
Why Is the Information Needed?
Purring Place uses the information to:
- Identify and respond to you
- Check whether your postcode is within the service area
- Check availability for the requested dates
- Assess whether the requested service may be suitable
- Provide relevant service and pricing information
- Take steps towards a booking if you decide to proceed
The telephone number is optional. If you do not provide one, Purring Place will respond by email.
The remaining fields are required because Purring Place cannot meaningfully assess the enquiry without them.
Lawful Basis
Responding to an Enquiry
The lawful basis is Article 6(1)(b) of the UK GDPR. Processing is necessary to take steps at your request before potentially entering into a contract.
Consent is not used as the lawful basis for receiving and responding to a booking enquiry.
Website and Form Security
Limited technical information may be processed to protect the website and enquiry form against spam, misuse, fraud and security threats.
The lawful basis for this processing is Article 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR. Purring Place has a legitimate interest in operating a secure and reliable website and protecting its communication systems.
Who Processes or Receives the Information?
Web3Forms
The enquiry form uses Web3Forms, operated by Web3Creative, to receive, validate, store and forward submissions. Web3Forms acts as a data processor on behalf of Purring Place.
Web3Forms uses infrastructure and service providers that may include:
- Amazon Web Services for hosting and email delivery
- Cloudflare for network and security services
- Hetzner for application infrastructure
- CleanTalk and Akismet for spam and abuse prevention
Spam-prevention providers may receive the submitter's IP address and email address to assess whether a submission is likely to be spam or abuse.

Microsoft 365
Successful enquiries are delivered to the Purring Place shared mailbox hosted within a Microsoft 365 business tenancy. Microsoft acts as a service provider and processor for the mailbox and related business systems.
International Transfers
Web3Creative operates from India and uses infrastructure providers that may process information in the United Kingdom, European Union, United States, India and other regions.
Web3Forms states that international transfers are protected by contractual safeguards, including the Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum where applicable.
Microsoft also operates services and support infrastructure internationally. Microsoft provides contractual data protection commitments and transfer safeguards for its business services.

How Long Is Information Kept?
Web3Forms Copy
Web3Forms is configured to permanently delete submissions older than three months.
Microsoft 365 Shared Mailbox Copy
If an enquiry does not result in a booking, the enquiry and associated correspondence are automatically deleted from the Purring Place shared mailbox after 90 days.
Enquiries That Become Bookings
If you choose to proceed and a booking is accepted, relevant information becomes part of the customer and booking record. You will receive further privacy information covering the additional information required to provide the service and the applicable retention periods.
Security Logs
Website, email and form-service providers may retain limited security and system logs under their own documented retention schedules. These logs are used to maintain security, investigate misuse and provide reliable services.
Your Data Protection Rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:
- Request access to your personal information
- Ask for inaccurate information to be corrected
- Ask for incomplete information to be completed
- Ask for your information to be erased
- Ask for the use of your information to be restricted
- Receive information you provided in a portable format
These rights are not absolute. Whether a right applies can depend on the information, lawful basis and circumstances.
Your Right to Object
You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests.
This applies to the limited processing used for website, form and communication security. Purring Place will consider an objection and stop the processing unless there are compelling legitimate grounds to continue or the processing is needed for legal claims.

Complaints
Please contact Purring Place first if you have a concern about how your information has been used. This provides an opportunity to investigate and resolve the issue.

Cookies, Local Storage and Analytics
The current Purring Place website does not intentionally set advertising cookies, analytics cookies or local-storage identifiers.
Purring Place does not currently use website analytics to build visitor profiles or measure individual browsing behaviour.
The website's hosting, security and form providers may process limited technical information needed to deliver and protect their services. This is separate from placing non-essential analytics or advertising identifiers on your device.
This notice and the website's controls will be reviewed before any optional analytics, cookies or similar technologies are introduced.
Automated Decisions
Purring Place does not make decisions about accepting a booking solely through automated processing. Enquiries are reviewed before availability or suitability is confirmed.
Automated spam filters may assess whether a submission appears to be spam or abuse. A genuine customer who believes an enquiry was not delivered can contact Purring Place directly by email.
Children's Information
The booking enquiry form is intended for people aged 18 or over. Purring Place does not knowingly use the form to collect personal information directly from children.
Changes to This Notice
This notice will be reviewed when the website, enquiry form, suppliers, retention settings or processing activities change.
The date at the top of this page will be updated whenever a material change is made.
